Installation Guide

Congratulations on your purchase of a PuroSmartTM System by International Environmental Technologies (IET).  Your PuroSmart has been designed for effortless installation, operation and maintenance.  Please read the following instructions carefully before putting your PuroSmart into operation, as we want you to enjoy all the benefits of your new product.

How the Product Works

The patent pending PuroSmart is the only faucet-mounted reverse osmosis (RO) system that includes carbon/sediment pre-filtration as an integral part of the filtration process.  The carbon/sediment pre-filter removes sediment above 20 microns as well as chlorine.  From the pre-filter, the feed water flows to the reverse osmosis membrane, which is a molecular separation process, and divides the water into two streams: the product and the concentrate streams.  The product stream contains the purified drinking water, while the concentrate stream contains all of the impurities down to molecular size (sub micron) that are removed by the RO membrane.  Unlike typical filtration products, these impurities are continually flushed out of the system.  The PuroSmart will provide you with the finest quality drinking water, being virtually unsurpassed by any home water filtration device or bottled drinking water found on the market today.

Directions for Use

Be sure to observe the following directions when operating your PuroSmart:

Getting Started-Faucet Mounted Systems

Your Package Contains the Following:

Installation

Step 1:  Remove existing aerator from the kitchen faucet.  (Figure 1)

Step 2:  Replace with aerator supplied with PuroSmart. (Figure 2)

Step 3:  Install the PuroSmart system by pressing the white ring down on the fitting and pushing the PuroSmart firmly onto the aerator then releasing the white ring. (Figure 3)

Step 4:  Run cold water to flush out the PuroSmart before installing the Flow Restrictor Assembly. Running water for a few seconds will help prepare the carbon filter and membrane.

Step 5:  Turn off the water and install the Flow Restrictor Assembly.  The Flow Restrictor Assembly (elbow fitting) is pushed into the connection at the bottom of the PuroSmart.  Make sure the tubing is inserted firmly into the fitting. (Figure 4)

Step 6:  Install the flexible white tubing into the connector on the top side connection of the PuroSmart.  You are now ready to begin making water.  You must run your PuroSmart for 4 hours and discard the first amount of water produced during this period.  Using a storage container, you can collect water made by the PuroSmart anytime you need water.
